What to know about graduation ceremonies

After years of studying you can finally relax and celebrate at your graduation. Here's what to know about it.

The graduation ceremony

The ceremony usually lasts about 1.5-2 hours and takes place in the main building of the university. You will hear speeches by the rector or dean of the faculty and by fellow students. There are usually musical numbers and the highlight of the ceremony is of course getting your diploma along with all the other graduates. The ceremony ends with the student anthem Gaudeamus.

Dress code

Graduation is a formal event. You are expected to wear a suit, a dress, a pantsuit or anything else considered formal. You can also wear your country's national clothes as national dress is considered the highest level of formal dress in Estonia. Find pictures below to get inspired.
