The Centre for Digital Humanities and Information Society was founded in 2018 in order to provide a wider platform for digital humanities in UT and encourage interdisciplinary cooperation. The centre is led by Jane Klavan from College of Foreign Languages and Cultures. Seven institutes from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities are represented in the Centre for DH, as well as the Institute of Computational Science and the UT Library.
The centre offers a minor in Digital Humanities and an elective module that can be taken by students on any level of studies, as well as ICT training and teaching materials, and participation in summer schools and conferences. Several international visiting lecturers have taught at UT through the Centre for Digital Humanities and Information Society. The visits have been supported mainly by the ASTRA program. Currently the visiting lecturer of Digital Humanities is Joshua Wilbur.
